In this memoir of a summer spent playing golf and finding himself in the highland Scotland golf Mecca of Royal Dornoch, the author extols the virtues of links golf in Scotland. It would be a good companion read while one anticipates a Scotland golf trip planned by using The Independent Golfer’s Guide.

This is a wonderful description of links golf in Scotland and would be a good companion read to The Independent Golfer’s Guide.

This is a well-written, literary read that describes, in varying detail, some 60 Scotland golf courses. Following a 10-page introduction, it offers 12 chapters, each of which describes four to seven courses in a given geographical area. The only practical travel advice is found in 3-page section in the introduction.

This would be another companion read to The Independent Golfer’s Guide, especially for the non-golfing spouse who wants to go along on the trip.
