Oban and Lorn

The harbor town of Oban has only 8,500 inhabitants but serves as a tourist center and gateway to the western islands of Scotland. Caledonia MacBrayne ferries leave Oban for the islands of Islay, Colonsay, Coll, Tiree, Mull, Lismore, Barra and South Uist. The town itself has many hotels and bed and breakfast accommodations and more can be found along the A85, A816 and A828 highways that converge on Oban.
